To put it lightly, this is going to be a tough game for the Kansas Jayhawks. Oklahoma, while maybe not as good as they have been, is still a great team. So much so, that oddsmakers think that they’re going to beat the Jayhawks by more than five touchdowns.

That’s really no surprise given Kansas’ 0-6 record, but Kansas has looked somewhat better in their past couple of games. The defense has been improving, and the offense has actually sustained a few drives. It likely won’t be enough to compete with the Sooners, but we need to see some fight out of the Jayhawks this afternoon.

Kansas has actually kept the game competitive in the past couple of seasons, losing 40-55 in 2018 and 45-20 in 2019. For this awful 2020 season, just staying inside of the massive 37.5 point spread would be a really good accomplishment.

It would take a solid game from Jayhawks quarterback Jalon Daniels, who has also seen some improvement over the past few weeks. The young freshman will be facing the best team he’s seen yet on the road, so it’ll be telling to see how he reacts when he and Kansas inevitably face some adversity.

On the defensive side of the ball, putting pressure on Spencer Rattler is a must. He’s thrown for 620 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions in the Sooners’ past two games, so finding a way to contain him or at least slow him down is critical for DJ Elliot and his squad.

The Sooners will likely sneak back into the top 10 by the end of the season, assuming they win out. Kansas football will have to play absolutely perfect if they’re going to compete with Oklahoma on the road today.
