Kansas football lands commitment from three-star WR Tanaka Scott

Last night, Kansas football landed Tanaka Scott, a talented three-star wide receiver from Alabama in the 2021 recruiting class.

The Jayhawks have finally landed a recruit in the 2021 recruiting class after going through a lengthy dry spell. Three-star wide receiver Tanaka Scott will be joining Kansas football, and he’s a solid pick up for the program considering the recent struggles Kansas has had in the 2021 class.

At the time of his commitment, Scott held offers from a number of schools including Houston, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, UAB, FAU, and many others. He stands at six-foot-four and 180 pounds, and his highlight reel makes it easy to see why Les Miles and the Jayhawks were interested. He does a fantastic job of adjusting his routes to the quarterback’s throws in addition to high-pointing the football.

With the commitment of Scott, Kansas football’s 2021 recruiting class now ranks No. 39 in the country and No. 4 in the Big 12 according to Rivals. This is still a great spot for the Jayhawks to be in at this point given the exodus they’ve seen following their 0-4 start this season.

The Jayhawks’ highest-rated recruit in the class, four-star receiver Keon Coleman, decided to leave the class earlier this month. Another prospect, three-star offensive lineman Edgar Amaya, also left the class recently.

Getting these talented recruits to commit is difficult enough, but it seems that keeping them will also be a challenge for the Kansas football coaching staff. Hopefully Tanaka Scott is committed to the Kansas Jayhawks for the long term because they could really use a playmaker with his talent.
