Kansas football is proving they have a long way to go this season. The Jayhawks were defeated in an ugly 47-7 loss by the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

This Kansas football team and coaching staff did not look good against Oklahoma State earlier this afternoon. The Jayhawks looked overmatched in every facet of the game, and one would be very hard-pressed to find any positive takeaways at all.

Oklahoma State did pretty much whatever they wanted on the offensive side of the ball. All-Big 12 running back Chuba Hubbard was unstoppable with over 150 yards of rushing and multiple touchdowns on the day. Quarterback Shane Illingworth torched Kansas for 255 yards and three touchdowns on the day.

For Kansas, their offense was brutal to watch. Starting quarterback and true freshman JD Daniels was knocked out of the game before halftime which led to Miles Kendrick taking the snaps for the Jayhawks. Neither quarterback looked great, but it was more than that for the Jayhawks.

The offensive line struggled to do just about anything, and Pooka Williams couldn’t get anything going. It’s been a tough year so far for the junior despite him being by far the most talented player on the Kansas roster.

They’ve dropped three straight now to Coastal Carolina, Baylor, and Oklahoma State, and thankfully they’ll have a bye week coming up next. After this bad of a loss, it really tough to have any optimism at all for this Kansas football team. They simply just don’t have the talent this season, and it very easily could result in a winless season without something drastic happening in the Jayhawks’ favor.
