October 31, Kansas football vs. Iowa State

The Jayhawks gave Iowa State all they could handle on the road last season. Kansas actually took a 24-21 lead into the fourth quarter; however, the Cyclones ended up coming out on top 41-31, but it was a strong showing by Kansas against one of the better teams in the Big 12. That being said, games like those are where the Jayhawks need to be able to close teams out.

This season, Kansas will get the opportunity to take on Iowa State at home. The Cyclones are returning quarterback Brock Purdy, who’s arguably the best QB in the conference. They’ll also have a solid run game behind Breece Hall, a Wichita native. Iowa State will be returning the majority of their defensive unit from 2019, so they should be good to go on that side of the ball.

Despite their success against Iowa State last season, Iowa State is expected to be one of the better teams in the Big 12. Crazier things have happened, but it’s tough to see the Jayhawks coming out on top in this one even though the game is in Lawrence.

Prediction: Kansas 7, Iowa State 34
