October 17, Kansas football @ West Virginia

Last season, Kansas football came very close to taking down the West Virginia Mountaineers. Ultimately, the Jayhawks dropped the game 24-29 at home, but they should have another chance against West Virginia in 2020 despite the game being on the road.

The Mountaineers aren’t supposed to be anything special in 2020. They should have a solid defense but their offense is pretty mediocre, and there’s also a QB battle going on. Austin Kendall started at quarterback for the first nine games of West Virginia’s season last year, but Jarret Doege played the last three games of the season and he seems like the favorite as of now.

For Kansas, this game provides an excellent opportunity for the Jayhawks to pick up a Big 12 road victory, something Kansas has not done in a very long time. These are the kind of games that the Jayhawks need to win if they’re going to get out of the basement considering West Virginia is supposed to be average at best. It would be a great win not only for the season but also for the program as a whole is Kansas can pull it off.

Prediction: Kansas 23, West Virginia 21
