Last season, Kansas took on Baylor in the final regular-season game of the year for the Jayhawks.  Baylor absolutely destroyed the Jayhawks in a 61-6 rout, but Baylor was one of the best teams in the country at that point. The Bears would end up losing the Big 12 title to Oklahoma and also be defeated in the Sugar Bowl by Georgia.

This season, Baylor will be without head coach Matt Rhule, who guided the Bears to their big year in 2019. While they’re expected to be a solid team, Dave Aranda will still be in his first season as a head coach after leaving his defensive coordinator position with LSU.

Despite losing Rhule and having a first-year head coach, Baylor will still have quarterback Charlie Brewer who’s easily one of the better QBs in the conference. Brewer did lose one of his favorite targets though, wide receiver Denzel Mims.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears are only returning a pair of starters. Given the amount of turnover, Kansas should at least have a chance to put points on the board against the Bears. The question is whether or not the Jayhawks’ defense will be able to contain the Bears’ offense.

That being said, it’s tough to see the Jayhawks getting a road win, but it is possible.

Prediction: Kansas 17, Baylor 28
