November 28, Kansas football vs. TCU

After Texas, Kansas will take on the TCU Horned Frogs in Lawrence once again. The Jayhawks were defeated in Fort Worth last season by TCU in a 51-14 rout. This season could end up being different though.

TCU will likely be without starting quarterback Max Duggan who’s out indefinitely after it was discovered that Duggan has a heart condition. That means there’s a three-way quarterback going on right now between Georgia transfer  Matthew Downing, JUCO transfer Stephon Brown, and true freshman Eli Williams. By the time they play Kansas, TCU should have their QB situation figured out, but this is still a huge blow to the Horned Frogs.

On defense, TCU did lose some starters but they will be returning Garret Wallow who led the Big 12 in tackles last season. They’ll also have a solid pair of safeties in  Ar’Darius Washington and Trevon Moehrig.

Given that it’s at home, this is a winnable game for the Kansas Jayhawks. TCU’s defense will be solid, but their offense is very questionable especially with the absence of Duggan. That being said, Garry Patterson is a solid coach and the quarterback issues could be a thing of the past by this point in the season.

Prediction: Kansas 31, TCU 38
