Kansas football lands 2021 prospect Tommy Dunn Jr.
Kansas football just picked up another commitment in for the 2021 recruiting class from Tommy Dunn Jr., a defensive end out of Texas.
The Jayhawks now have commitment No. 19 from Tommy Dunn Jr., who will be joining Kansas football’s 2021 recruiting class. The six-foot-three defensive end from Naaman Forest in Texas is a good little addition to the class despite the fact that he is not highly rated.
Dunn chose the Jayhawks over other schools including Air Force, Navy, Rice, Columbia, and UTSA. While he may not have had any other Power Five offers other than Kansas, Dunn does do a lot in his film to show that he’s worthy of a chance from a school that’s willing to give it to him.
His junior season highlights are impressive, as Dunn can be seen shedding and bulldozing opposing blockers with ease and making tackles for a loss all over the place. With some technique and coaching from the Kansas staff, Dunn could be molded into a capable player at the Power Five level with the Jayhawks.
While Dunn isn’t a blue-chip prospect, finding guys like him that can be coached and developed is key for Kansas football considering they just aren’t going to be able to land those highly-rated prospects very often. Kansas has struggled with the coaching and developing aspect in the past, but hopefully, that will be corrected under Miles.

At this rate, the 2021 Kansas football class could be one of the best in recent memory for the Jayhawks. It’s currently ranked No. 42 overall and No. 4 in the Big 12 according to 247Sports, and if Les Miles can keep the class in that area, it’d be a huge accomplishment for him in just his second season as head coach of the Jayhawks.
