Kansas football has their first commit of the 2022 recruiting class, three-star quarterback Austin Meyers of Vilonia, Arkansas.

Kansas football has officially landed their first commit of the 2022 recruiting class. Three-star quarterback Austin Myers will be joining the Jayhawks after being recruited by offensive coordinator Brent Dearmon. Myers had been receiving interest from other schools including Arkansas, Tennessee, Iowa State, and California.

He stands at six-foot-four and 180 pounds, which is certainly big enough to give him a chance at the Power Five level. His highlights are quite impressive as well. Myers can definitely throw the deep ball, and he throws on the run well too despite not being labeled as a mobile QB.

Keep in mind, these are just sophomore year highlights, so Myers will have a couple of more years to improve before joining the Jayhawks. His stats last season included over 1300 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns, and just four interceptions.

Here is his Tweet announcing his commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks:

Myers is the third recruit from Arkansas that the Kansas football staff has gotten a commitment from during this offseason, and the staff has also offered quite a few prospects from the Natural State. It looks like Arkansas has become a state that the Jayhawks are targeting, which is something to keep an eye on.

Watching Myers get better going to be really fun over the next couple of years. Landing him is a terrific way for Kansas football to begin their 2022 class, especially if he continues to develop at a rapid pace.
