Kansas football: Andrew Parchment deserves hype for 2020 season
Kansas football wide receiver Andrew Parchment has received a lot of hype for the 2020 season, including preseason awards and watch lists.
Kansas football will be returning some talent on the offensive end for the 2020 season, if it happens. Running back Pooka Williams is back, and the Jayhawks are returning three of their key receivers from 2019: Kwamie Lassiter II, Stephon Robinson, and Andrew Parchment.
Parchment in particular has received a lot of hype. Last season, he hauled in 65 passes for over 800 yards and seven touchdowns in his first year with the Jayhawks. Based on his strong showing, Parchment is predicted to be one of the best players in the Big 12.
For starters, Parchment made the 2020 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, which is quite the honor. Only five other Big 12 players were named to the watch list, which certainly points toward Parchment being one of the best receivers in the conference. No Kansas football player has ever won the award, so Parchment does have a chance to make history.
More recently, Parchment was named to the Big 12 Media Preseason Football Team and was only one of three receivers that made the team. Pooka Williams also made the team, and he’ll be going for his first-team All-Big 12 selection in a row.
We also believe that Parchment will be one of the best receivers in the conference, as evidenced in our “Top three offensive playmakers to watch in 2020” piece, as well as our prediction that he’ll make an All-Big 12 team. He has a lot of talent, and if Kansas can find a QB, there’s no reason why he can’t meet or even exceed the expectations that he has received.
Parchment should be a key contributor for the Jayhawks next season on the offensive side of the ball, and he definitely deserves the hype. He has the potential to be one of the best receivers in the conference, and he should have a spectacular year.
