Kansas basketball trending with four-star point guard Nolan Hickman
Kansas basketball seems to be the favorite to land Nolan Hickman, a four-star point guard in the recruiting class of 2021.
Kansas basketball has been a premier destination for point guards during the Bill Self era. Guys like Tyshawn Taylor, Sherron Collins, Frank Mason, Devonte’ Graham, and Devon Dotson have all had tremendous success with the Jayhawks, and now, Self and Kansas have a chance to land a highly recruited point guard in Nolan Hickman.
Hickman is rated as a four-star prospect by both 247Sports and Rivals, and he currently holds offers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Washington, Arizona, UCLA, Oregon State, and many others. Analyst Josh Gershon of 247Sports said Hickman “has both high floor and high ceiling” and that he’s an “easy high major starter with NBA upside.”
While Kansas has some competition to land Hickman from UCLA and Arizona, the Jayhawks appear to be the favorite as of now. So far, Kansas has one Crystal Ball prediction in their favor from Brian Snow, who has over a 90 percent accuracy rate for the 2021 class. Kansas also has four expert picks on Rivals, so it looks like we could possibly see a commitment from Hickman sometime soon, or at least maybe a commitment date.
Based on Hickman’s highlights and some of his reviews, he’d be a great addition to the Kansas Jayhawks’ 2021 recruiting class, which currently features just one prospect: four-star forward Zach Clemence. With just Clemence, Kansas basketball’s recruiting class is ranked second in the Big 12 and No. 21 overall.
If the Jayhawks are able to add Hickman to the 2021 class, that’d be a massive win for Self and his staff. The Jayhawks would climb substantially in recruiting rankings, and the addition of Hickman may be enough to convince other top prospects to join Kansas basketball.
