During his sophomore year, Collins was a key contributor for the 2008 national title team where he averaged 9.3 points per game throughout that season. Collins also made the pass to Mario Chalmers, setting up the game-tying three-pointer. The following season, Collins got his chance to be “the man,” and his output increased quite a bit.
Collins averaged a career-high 18.9 points and five assists per game during his junior season and followed that up with 15.5 points and 4.5 assists per game in his senior season. He led the Jayhawks to success through his junior and senior seasons, including two Big 12 titles and a Sweet Sixteen appearance.
