Kansas basketball: Four-star Frankie Collins lists Jayhawks in top 8
Kansas basketball has made the cut with Frankie Collins, a talented four-star point guard in the class of 2021.
Frankie Collins is a baller that could really help Kansas basketball, and it looks like the Jayhawks have a chance to land him. Collins listed Kansas in his top eight schools recently on Twitter, along with Michigan, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, USC, Georgetown, and New Mexico State.
Notably, Collins also holds offers from Oklahoma, TCU, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Columbia, and UNLV. He’s rated as a four-star recruit by both 247Sports and Rivals, with 247’s composite rankings putting him at No. 56 overall in his class.
Currently attending Compass Prep in Arizona, Collins has some really good highlights. He can score from anywhere on the floor, and he’s a great passer too. He seems like the kind of player that could come to Kansas and follow in the footsteps of some of the great point guards Bill Self has coached, especially if he stays for three or four seasons.
So far, Kansas basketball has just one recruit in their 2021 class: Zach Clemence, a four-star power forward who committed to the Jayhawks back in May. With just Clemence, Kansas’ 2021 class currently ranks No. 20 in the nation and No.1 in the Big 12 conference.
Based on who the Jayhawks seem to be trending with, they could have a big-time class, especially if Collins decides to commit as well. It might be awhile until the Jayhawks see a commitment in that class though.
With the Kansas vs. NCAA fight decision looming in the future, some recruits may be understandably hesitant to join the Jayhawks. With any luck though, the name “Kansas” will be too much for the top prospects to turn down, and head coach Bill Self can pull in a top class.
