Kansas football looks like they have a chance to grab Landon Rogers, a former Arkansas commit who’s back on the market after reopening his recruitment.

Kansas football has been given another chance to pick up talented three-star quarterback Landon Rogers, who was committed to Arkansas. Rogers decommitted last Saturday, and now the Jayhawks seem to be the favorite to land the 2021 Parkview Magnet product.

Shortly after announcing that he wouldn’t be a Razorback, Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports logged a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Kansas Jayhawks. Wiltfong currently has a 99 percent success rate (303/305) in predicting the class of 2021, so that’s a good sign for the Jayhawks.

Rogers currently holds offers from many schools including Kansas, Houston, Louisiana, North Texas, and Murray State. He’s ranked inside the top 1000 recruits for the class of ’21, so he’d be a solid addition to Kansas football’s class.

As a junior, Rogers threw for 1,661 yards, 19 touchdowns, and just two interceptions over the course of the season. In his highlight reel, Rogers can be seen throwing on the run with good accuracy in addition to making plays on the ground with his legs.

Having a dual threat quarterback would greatly benefit offensive coordinator Brent Dearmon’s RPO-heavy offense, so it’s no wonder the Jayhawks are interested. Kansas currently has a dual threat quarterback in their 2020 class with Jalon Daniels, so this certainly seems to be a trend.

Speaking of trends, Kansas football recruiting in general seems to be on the rise. The Jayhawks landed four-star receiver Keon Coleman on July 4, and they’re also in the hunt for Tyas Martin, a defensive tackle and former Virginia Tech commit.

Rogers should certainly be a priority for coaching staff due to his talent. Kansas has a chance with Rogers to try an further improve their 2021 class which currently ranks No. 5 in the Big 12 according to 247Sports.
