Kansas basketball offers local class of 2022 recruit Juju Ramirez
Kansas basketball is interested in bringing in Juju Ramirez, a Lawrence native that could help out the Jayhawks in a few years.
Kansas basketball head coach Bill Self and his staff have been showing their interest in a number of class of 2022 recruits now that the coaches can directly communicate with them. One potential Jayhawk that Kansas and Self are interested in is Juju Ramirez.
Ramirez just finished his sophomore year at Bishup Seabury Academy in Lawrence, and he will be transferring to New Hampton School in New Hampshire for his junior year. So far, Ramirez holds offers from a few schools including Kansas, Tulsa, Denver, and Bryant. He’s also gotten some interest from Rhode Island and Minnesota per KU Sports.
On receiving his offer from Kansas, Ramirez was ecstatic: “As a hometown kid from Lawrence I’m extremely excited to say I have received an offer from Kansas University!” Receiving an offer from Kansas would be very cool, even more so when you’re actually from Lawrence.
While Ramirez hasn’t landed any other high-major offers yet, that’s bound to change in the future for a couple of reasons. For starters, the offer from Kansas will likely get the attention of other schools who will probably be on the lookout for Ramirez next season.
Being in the Northeast will give him a lot of exposure to Big 10, Big East, and ACC schools, so Ramirez may start seeing offers from those schools roll in after his junior season.
Another reason is the fact that Ramirez is a good basketball player. He stands at six-foot-seven, and with his height and skill, he’s got a chance to go far. There’s a reason Bill Self and Kansas are interested in him, and it’s a good thing that got their offer in early.
While Juju Ramirez is still unrated by 247Sports and Rivals, it’ll be interesting to see how many stars he’s given by the two recruiting sites. An offer from Kansas has been known to give players a little boost in the past, but ultimately, the stars don’t matter as much as we think they do.
Self and his staff think Ramirez can help Kansas basketball, and that’s what matters.
