Kansas basketball will have one of the deepest benches in the country next season, which will be a huge strength for the Jayhawks.

Despite losing two of their top scorers from last season, Kansas basketball is returning quite a bit of talent. The Jayhawks should have enough firepower to win another Big 12 title and possibly make a Final Four run.

The Jayhawks are returning every player from last season with the exception of Isaiah Moss, Devon Dotson, and Udoka Azubuike. That means that there will be a lot of competition for minutes in the rotation, which will hopefully lead to a better team on the court.

Guys like Christian Braun, Jalen Wilson, Tristan Enaruna, Tyon Grant-Foster, David McCormack, Silvio De Sousa, and Mitch Lightfoot will all be jockeying for position in the Jayhawks frontcourt. McCormack seems like the easy pick to be the Jayhawks’ big man, but that forward spot is pretty much wide open for whoever impresses head coach Bill Self the most.

No matter who starts, Kansas basketball will have some talent coming off of the bench.

The fact that the Jayhawks will have such a deep bench will be one of their biggest strengths, and it’ll really come in handy once conference play begins in January. When that point comes, you often start seeing fatigue and injuries happen, so capable players on the bench can help combat those ailments. Of course, the same goes for the postseason. Having depth in March Madness is a huge advantage, and it could be the difference between an early exit and going on a deep run.
