Kansas football a top choice for defensive end Miles Capers
Kansas football is in the mix for a highly recruited three-star defensive end in Miles Capers.
Les Miles and Kansas football are continuing to make progress in the recruiting class of 2021. The Jayhawks are one of Miles Capers’ top choices, and Kansas is in pretty good company when it comes to who they’re competing with to land Capers.
So far, the three-star defensive end from Sumter High School holds offers from schools like Tennessee, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Indiana, West Virginia, UCF, and others.
Here is Capers’ Tweet announcing his top schools:
As a weak-side defensive end, Capers has some elite closing speed on his highlight reel. Standing at six-foot-five, he’s got the ability to make lots of tackles for a loss of yardage, even on plays that are run away from him.
If the Jayhawks are able to out-recruit some other major schools and land Capers, that’d be huge for Miles and his staff. The one thing Kansas can promise Capers that some of the schools can’t is early playing time while still playing in a Power Five conference, which could have an impact on Capers.
In addition to getting a great prospect, Kansas’ recruiting rankings for the 2021 class would certainly go up if they were able to get Capers to commit. As of now, the Jayhawks’ class of ’21 is ranked No. 25 in the nation and No. 5 in the Big 12 according to 247 Sports.
Should Capers choose to commit, he’d join Deldrick Withers who’s the only defensive end in the ’21 class so far for the Jayhawks.
Miles Capers would be an excellent pick up for the Jayhawks. He would probably see some playing time fairly early in his career should he commit to Kansas football, and he could become an impact player in the future.
