Texas Tech Red Raiders

Despite being perceived as one of the better teams in the conference, Texas Tech finished with a Big 12 record of 9-9 last season after losing their last four games in a row. Don’t expect the Red Raiders to be that average again in 2021 despite losing Chris Clarke and T.J. Holyfield.

After a great season where he was named second-team All-Big 12, Jahmi’us Ramsey made the decision to declare for the NBA while still maintaining his college eligibility. Losing Ramsey would certainly be a blow to the Red Raiders, but there’s another player that could leave as well.

Honorable mention All-Big 12 Davide Moretti was recently offered a pro contract to play in Italy, so he could be on his way out as well. Even if the worst-case scenario happens for Texas Tech and they lose both Ramsey and Moretti, they should still be a solid Big 12 team thanks to the coaching of Chris Beard.

Texas Tech is also pulling in the No. 1 recruiting in the Big 12 according to 247 Sports. Nimari Burnett, the No. 32 overall recruit in the class of 2020 and Micah Peavy, the No. 41 overall recruit should both come in and help Tech immediately.

For Kansas basketball, they’ve taken down the Red Raiders in three of their last four meetings, and hopefully that trend will continue into next season.
