Kansas football makes four-star Keon Coleman’s top six schools
Kansas football has a chance to land an elite recruit in the 2021 class with four-star receiver Keon Coleman out of Louisiana.
Kansas football doesn’t get a whole lot of chances to land four-star recruits, but receiver Keon Coleman could be joining the Jayhawks’ recruiting class of 2021. Coleman recently listed Kansas in his top six schools, along with Oklahoma, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Florida State, and South Carolina.
In addition to his top six, Coleman also holds offers from Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Penn State, Baylor, and many other schools. Almost every major football school in the country is interested in Coleman, lending to how great it is that the Jayhawks are one of his top choices.
Here is Coleman’s Twitter post announcing his top six schools in no order:
Despite competing against some big football schools for Coleman, there are a couple of things Kansas can offer that they cannot. For starters, Coleman would probably see almost immediate playing time should he come to Kansas. Kansas football head coach Les Miles can also point to some of his former wide receivers like Odell Beckham Jr. and try to show Coleman what he could gain.
One thing that bodes well for the Jayhawks is the fact that there aren’t any Crystal Ball predictions yet for Coleman, meaning he’s either still not sure yet or he’s keeping his intentions on the down-low. Either way, there’s doesn’t seem to be a front-runner yet, so Kansas has a shot.

Coleman currently attends Opelousas Catholic School in Louisiana where he’s a standout in both football and basketball. Per 247 Sports, he hauled in 35 receptions last season, 22 of which were for touchdowns.
Should Coleman choose to commit to the Jayhawks, Kansas football’s 2021 class would probably see a huge jump in their ranking. As of now, the class is No. 33 in the nation and No. 5 in the Big 12; however, Coleman would probably push the Jayhawks up to at least fourth in the conference and probably the top 30 in the country.
Despite competing against some big schools, the Kansas Jayhawks have a shot to land Coleman. The fact that they’re battling these schools for top recruits is a good sign for the program too, even if they ultimately miss out on Coleman.
