The Kansas basketball coaching staff continues to work hard through the COVID-19 outbreak with the offering of four-star recruit Ramel Lloyd.

Kansas basketball’s newest target is Ramel Lloyd, a six-foot-six small forward with guard skills in the class of 2022 that could really help the Jayhawks. So far, he holds a ton of offers from some really prestigious schools including Arizona State, USC, St. Johns, TCU, DePaul, and others.

Lloyd has also received some interest from Kentucky, but no offer yet.

247 Sports ranks Lloyd as a four-star recruit in their composite ratings and No. 57 overall in the country. While Lloyd has quite a few offers, the Kansas Jayhawks are the first blue blood program to extend an offer, which could give them an advantage if Kentucky decides to pull the trigger.

Here is Lloyd’s offer announcement on Twitter:

Despite being listed as a small forward and standing at six-foot-six, Lloyd sees himself as a combo guard and someone that can handle the basketball. He posted this message on his Twitter with a video of himself driving the ball coast to coast and getting a contested layup:

"I am not a small forward/ wing! I’m a scoring combo guard that played the point full time the whole year last year for my squad at 6’6."

Given his versatility and size, Lloyd would be a great signing for the Jayhawks should he choose to commit.

Currently, the Jayhawks’ 2022 recruiting class is empty, but that’s not a big deal at this point. We’re still a long way away from when prospects will decide to commit, so don’t hold your breath for a decision from Lloyd.

light. more hoops. Breaking down the 2020 recruiting class

Kansas basketball would certainly benefit by signing Lloyd. His unique skill set combined with his size should make him a priority, as he could help the Jayhawks in his freshman season.
