Five-star recruit and Kansas basketball target Kendall Brown hasn’t made a decision yet on where he’ll go to school, but the Jayhawks have to be a favorite to land the talented small forward.

Kendall Brown would make a nice addition to Kansas basketball’s 2021 recruiting class. Brown is rated as a five-star recruit and the No. 17 player in the country by 247 Sports’ composite rankings, so he could definitely make an impact early for the Jayhawks.

As of now, Brown has a ton of offers from a lot of other prestigious schools including Marquette, Ohio State, Arizona, Baylor, Creighton, Texas, Illinois, and a bunch more. Bill Self and the Jayhawks offered Brown back in July of 2019; however, Kansas was late to the party. Brown already had offers from many of the listed schools and three from the Big 12 alone.

Brown stands at six-foot-seven and 205 pounds and is described as a “finesse slasher type player” by Jerry Meyer. Meyer also notes that Brown will need to work on his range while comparing him to NBA player Matt Barnes.

The good news for the Kansas Jayhawks is that they appear to be trending with Brown who actually plays at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas. As a matter of fact, Sean Bock of Hawkeye Insider at 247 Sports logged a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of Kansas.

Bock’s all-time Crystal Ball accuracy is at 93.07 percent based on 101 picks, so that’s a good sign for the Jayhawks who are still looking for their first commitment to their 2021 class.

While some fans may be alarmed at the empty 2021 recruiting class, it’s not something to worry about quite yet. The Jayhawks have around 20 offers sent out to recruits, and many of those recruits are taking their time in accepting any offers.

Not only that but coaches’ inability to meet with recruits face to face due to COVID-19 has to be playing a role in slowing down recruiting.

Combining COVID-19 with the fact that Brown has said that he is taking his time means that it’ll probably be a while before he makes his commitment. At this point, it’s probably best to be on the lookout for Brown to cut his schools down in the future. Hopefully, the Jayhawks will make the cut.
