Bill Self and Kansas basketball have officially offered Mikey Williams, arguably the best recruit in the class of 2023.

Mikey Williams, 6-foot-2 175 pound combo guard from San Diego, California was offered by Kansas basketball late last night according to Jake Weingarten.

Mikey Williams at the age of 15 has ten offers already including from teams such as Arizona, UCLA, USC, Texas Tech, and a few others; however, Kansas is the first of the blue bloods which could give them the inside track vs. schools like Kentucky and Duke.

Mikey will be the favorite to be that number one player on both Rivals and 247 Sports once they release rankings for the 2023 class.

Josh Gershon of 247 Sports calls Williams “High-level athlete who is an explosive finisher.” Gershon also talks about Williams’ shooting ability, which he notes is consistent from behind the three-point line.

Another option for Mikey is the pro route, recently five-star Jalen Green signed with the NBA G-League and was considering joining the NBL in Australia. These will serve as two options for Mikey to make money from his brand immediately and totally bypass college hoops.

For another option, the NBA is expected to remove the one and done rule by 2022. Mikey and a select few other recruits from the 2023 class could go straight to the NBA and follow in the footsteps of players like Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and Lebron James.

Obviously, the Kansas Jayhawks have yet to land a commitment from the class of 2023 since it’s so early. If Williams were to choose Kansas though, he’d be right up there with some of the highest-rated recruits in Kansas history.

light. more jayhawks. Ranking every coach in program history

It is very early on in Mikey’s recruitment, but you can believe all the blue bloods will offer the guard before his senior year. He’ll probably have his choice on any school in the country, hopefully, he lands with Kansas basketball.
