No. 2: Self Perspective

Kansas basketball head coach and hall of famer Bill Self knows how bored you are during the quarantine. To help give Jayhawks everywhere something to do, Self will have a new show called Self Perspective, where he breaks down game film from some of his biggest games as a head coach at Kansas.

In the first 30-minute episode, Self breaks down the final five minutes of regulation and overtime of the Jayhawks’ Elite Eight victory over Duke from 2018. It’s an amazing view into the mind of one of the best coaches in America, so it’s definitely worth the watch even for non-Kansas fans.

The best part about Self Perspective is that it’s completely free, and there’s more to come too. While we don’t have an official release date yet for episode two, the initial announcement that the athletics department sent out said: “We already have several more episodes in the works that we’ll be posting… over the coming weeks.”

There are so many cool games that Self could break down, so we here at Through the Phog compiled a shortlist of some we’d like to see Self dive into:

  • Kansas vs. Baylor, 2/22/2020
  • Kansas vs. Dayton, 11/27/19
  • Kansas vs. Oklahoma 1/4/2016
  • Kansas vs. Ohio State 3/31/2012
  • Kansas vs. Missouri 2/25/2012

What are some games you’d like to see Self analyze?
