Kansas basketball has reclaimed their place at the top of the Big 12 after a tremendous effort from Udoka Azubuike to help the Jayhawks beat TCU.

After a grueling game against TCU, Kansas basketball was able to come away with a win and at least a share of the 2020 Big 12 title thanks to a huge game from Udoka Azubuike.

In his final game at Allen Fieldhouse, Azubuike dropped 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to secure yet another double-double. Azubuike also had 5 blocks. Devon Dotson had a big night too with 18 points.

Despite how great the team played, they did look fatigued and banged up at times. It’s a little bit concerning given they’ll have to hit the road against Texas Tech in just a few days, so don’t be surprised if the game goes either way in Lubbock.

The biggest takeaway from the Jayhawks’ win over TCU though was that Kansas clinched at least a share of the 2020 Big 12 title. Bill Self gave the team high praise after the game, saying:

"“Of all the teams we’ve had win a Big 12 Championship here, I can honestly say I’m more proud of this team than any of them!”"

If you think about it, that’s a pretty incredible statement. Self’s teams at Kansas have won 14 other Big 12 titles, and two of those teams went on to play in national title games. To say this is the team he’s most proud of is extremely cool and telling of all the work they’ve put in to get to this point.

This season isn’t over yet though.

The Jayhawks can clinch an outright Big 12 title by winning their game against Texas Tech this Saturday. They can also clinch it outright with a loss to Texas Tech if Baylor also loses to West Virginia.

Kansas basketball still has work to do, but it’s a Final Four or bust for the Jayhawks at this point. They’re too good to expect anything less.
