Kansas basketball swept the Kansas State Wildcats behind a huge performance from Devon Dotson, and now they lead the Big 12.

In a hard-fought victory, Kansas basketball took down their in-state rival Kansas State to remain undefeated in conference play this season. The win over Kansas State combined with a Baylor loss to TCU moved Kansas into sole possession of first place in the Big 12.

As it stands now, Kansas has a conference record of 15-1, while the Bears are sitting at 14-2. With just two games left in the regular season, this is great timing. If the Jayhawks win out, they’ll win the Big 12 outright; however, they can still drop one game and be tied for the league title with the Bears.

In the Sunflower Showdown, Kansas State came to play, and the game was extremely close the whole way. Neither team led by double digits and the Jayhawks turned the ball over a whopping 17 times.

How about Devon Dotson though?

The sophomore point guard led all scorers with 25 points on 8-11 shooting. Dotson was also perfect from the line, knocking down all eight of his opportunities. It was a good game for the Jayhawks in general from the line, considering the made 71 percent of their foul shots.

Big man Udoka Azubuike was a non-factor for the game, but that can be attributed to his injury early in the game. Azubuike went to the locker room for a time before making a return; however, he still played very limited minutes throughout the rest of the game.

The fact that he returned is a good sign, but this is definitely something worth keeping an eye on considering Kansas basketball plays against TCU in just four days.
