Kansas basketball: Four-star Donovan Williams will visit on Senior Night
By Jake Spence
Kansas basketball recruit Donovan Williams will return to Lawrence for a second visit on Senior Night against TCU next week.
Kansas Basketball has yet again put together another top twenty recruiting class this year. According to 247 Sports, Kansas ranks 16th nationally coming in at No. 4 in the Big 12, but doesn’t look like head coach Bill Self is satisfied with his recruiting class just yet.
Four-star recruit Donovan Williams has scheduled a second unofficial visit to Kansas for Senior Night against TCU on March 4.
Williams is a 2020 shooting guard, who is receiving a majority of his interest from schools in the midwest. Williams has received offers from the likes of Kansas State, Nebraska, Bradley, Oklahoma State, Texas, and South Dakota. Williams is still on many coaching staffs’ recruiting boards, receiving interest but no offer yet from schools that consist of Kansas, Creighton, Butler, Depaul, Iowa, Oregon, and others.
In an interview with Rivals senior staff writer, Shay Wildeboor, Williams had nothing but positive takeaways from his visit.
"“So the visit went great, was so real to see in person for the first time, and see how good of a team they are. Coach Self really stood out with the way he coached, isn’t overly loud or obnoxious just very calm and will get on you but in a positive way.”"
Williams was also able to speak with current freshman Christian Braun, and also walk around Allen Fieldhouse with Coach Norm Roberts and see a couple of things.
"“I talked to Christian (Braun) a little bit just to say what’s up since it’s been a while since I have seen him. I walked around and saw a few things with Coach Roberts which was good. Yes I will be back for senior night March 4th.”"
Kansas basketball has yet to offer the four-star guard, but I believe if Kansas pulls the trigger on offering Donovan, he will eventually end up picking the Jayhawks over the in-state rival Kansas State Wildcats.
Kansas will face off against Kansas State February 29th in the Sunflower Showdown, but more importantly the battle for Donovan Williams.
