With the Big 12 Tournament and March Madness coming up, Isaiah Moss could be the X-Factor that leads the Jayhawks to postseason success.

This Kansas basketball team is loaded in every position, but one starter in particular has what it takes to be the X-Factor for the Jayhawks as we approach March. Senior grad transfer Isaiah Moss has had a solid season with Kansas so far, but he could be set for a Malik Newman type of performance in March.

So far this season, Moss has been averaging about eight points per game. He shoots the ball well from behind the arc too, knocking down about 38 percent of his shots from deep. Three-point shooting is Moss’ main gig, but he’s developed some new skills since coming to Kansas.

More recently, Moss has become a driver too, which is a really good thing considering he’s almost automatic from the free throw line. Adding the ability to drive to his offensive game is huge too since it will allow him to get more space to shoot on the perimeter.

Being primarily a three-point shooter, Moss could heat up here towards the end of the season, which would be huge for Kansas basketball. If they can combine consistent three-point shooting with Devon Dotson’s driving ability and Udoka Azubuike’s dominating post presence, this team could run the table.

Isaiah Moss is the key to that three-point shooting. Of course, there are other guys that can light it up from deep too. Christian Braun and Ochai Agbaji come to mind, but with Moss being a senior who’s main purpose on the team is to shoot the three-ball, it seems likely that the responsibility will probably fall to him in March.

Isaiah Moss just seems so similar to Malik Newman. Both were transfers,  both can shoot it from three, and both had decent but not great regular seasons.

With the regular-season conference games winding down and glorious March almost upon us, look for the separation between teams that are real, and teams that aren’t. Given their recent wins, this Kansas basketball team is certainly real, and the best squad in the country.

If Isaiah Moss adds in a barrage of three-pointers to the Kansas offense in March, there will be no stopping the Jayhawks from winning their sixth national title.
