Goal Two: Have four or more Jayhawks named to All Big-12 teams

Last season, two Jayhawks were named to the All-Big 12 Football First Team: running back Pooka Williams and offensive lineman Hakeem Adeniji. It was Williams’ second First Team selection in a row, and Adeniji finally made the First Team after being named to the Second Team in 2018. Eight other Jayhawks received honorable mentions.

Now, Adeniji is preparing for the NFL Combine, and hopefully a prosperous career in the league.

Many of the honorable mentions will be returning including linebacker Gavin Potter, receiver Stephon Robinson, receiver Andrew Parchment, and punter Kyle Thompson. Of course, Pooka Williams will be back this season and better than ever. He’ll have to compete with Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard, who was a unanimous selection for All-Big 12 First Team running back last season though, so it won’t be easy.

The guys to keep an eye on this season though are the receivers. Both Andrew Parchment and Stephon Robinson had incredible seasons in 2019, and it’s exciting to think about just how good they’ll be in 2020.

If Parchment, Robinson, Williams, and maybe one other Jayhawk can make either the Big 12 First or Second Teams in the 2020 season, that’d be great for the program and show that the coaching staff can develop top tier talent.
