Kansas basketball fan-favorite Frank Mason had an incredible game last night with the Wisconsin Herd, dropping 44 points.

Kansas basketball great Frank Mason had an unbelievable game last night with the Milwaukee Bucks’ G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. He scored 44 points in 36 minutes, knocking down four three-pointers in the Herd’s four-point win over the Grand Rapids Drive.

Since being released by the Sacramento Kings after the 2019 season, Mason has found a home in Milwaukee’s organization. He signed a two-way contract with the club, meaning he splits time between the Bucks and their G-League affiliate, the Herd.

The Herd has the best record in the G-League at 25-8, and Frank Mason is a big reason why.

So far this season, Mason has played a total of three games with the Bucks and the rest with the Herd. Mason is currently leading the G-League in points per game with 25.1 per game. He also averages 4.9 assists and one steal per game.

If Mason can keep scoring around 25 points per game, NBA teams will have no choice but to notice him, or better yet, the Bucks can promote him to the NBA club and give him a full contract. Milwaukee currently has the best record in the NBA this season at 48-6, so if Mason could find a way on the roster he could possibly be the next Jayhawk to win a ring.

Still, other teams that need point guards could easily be hounding Mason at the end of this season. It could be a really good opportunity for Mason to get a fresh start in the NBA after being discarded by the Kings and not utilized by Milwaukee.

After such a stellar career with Kansas basketball, Mason deserves success in the NBA. He’ll get another chance without a doubt, so be sure to keep an eye on him this season and in the offseason during the Summer League where he could get his chance.
