Kansas basketball took care of the Iowa State Cyclones last night and they’ll look to continue their success this weekend against Baylor in Waco.

Despite Iowa State getting off to a hot start, the Jayhawks dominated the Cyclones 71-91. It was a solid win for Kansas basketball, and now they’ll look to get even with Baylor this Saturday night in Waco.

First, let’s take a look at the Jayhawks’ win over Iowa State though.

Devon Dotson was the man of the hour for Kansas, scoring 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting including six triples. Dotson also finished with three steals and just one turnover. The sophomore phenom leads the conference in points per game this season and is also the front runner for Big 12 Player of the Year. Dotson’s in the conversation for National Player of the Year too, and he ranks first in KenPom’s player of the year rankings.

Ochai Agbaji and Udoka Azubuike had good games too, scoring 14 and 13 points respectively. It was an all-around great game from the Jayhawks, with 91 points being the most the Jayhawks have scored so far this season in conference play.

The best part is that this offensive explosion is that it’s happening at a great time. With the major game against Baylor coming up in just four days, Kansas is going to need all the firepower they can muster to take down the Bears in Waco.

Keep an eye on your TV tonight through, as Baylor will travel to Norman to take on the Sooners. Baylor should be able to dispatch Oklahoma relatively easily, but keep in mind that the Bears beat Oklahoma by only four in Waco the first time they played, so this game could be interesting.

The Big 12 Conference race will probably come down to the wire this season between Kansas basketball and Baylor, with the game this Saturday being a deciding factor. If the Jayhawks can continue their offensive explosion from the Iowa State game against the Bear, Kansas will have a great shot at the victory.
