Kansas football @ Coastal Carolina – September 26, 2020

This should be a game Kansas football players and coaches have circled on their calendars. The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers absolutely embarrassed the Jayhawks in Lawrence last season, beating Kansas 12-7.

It was one of the worst losses of the decade and by far the worst of the season.

The Chanticleers rubbed salt in the wound after their victory by having a post-game locker room celebration that included whacking a Jayhawk piñata:

It was the Chanticleers’ first-ever win over a power-five conference team, and they’d go on to finish their season 5-7.

In 2020, the Jayhawks will hit the road and try to get some revenge. Similar to their game against New Hampshire, Kansas should dispose of Coastal Carolina with relative ease. The Chanticleers weren’t good last year and they won’t be any better in 2020. If Kansas doesn’t handle them with ease it’ll certainly be cause for concern.

light. More. Top four returning Jayhawks in 2020

Kansas football could be on the brink of a breakthrough season in 2020, and it’ll start with the non-conference opponents. The Jayhawks have the talent, and now, it’s about putting it all together on the field. Is is September yet?
