2. Pooka Williams, Junior RB

You knew Pooka Williams would be on this list, didn’t you? Williams, one of the most feared running backs in the Big 12, had another great season in 2019. He finished with 1,061 rushing yards, good for third in the conference and his second 1,000 yard season in a row.

Keep in mind, Williams also missed a game last season after serving a one-game suspension when the Jayhawks faced Indiana State to open the season.

Williams earned an All-Big 12 First Team nod for the second season in a row as a running back, and he’ll look for a third one in 2020.

He’s on pace to become the fourth leading rusher in Kansas football history next season, and it’s very possible that Williams ends his Jayhawk career as one of the greatest running backs in school history if he sticks around for his senior year. That includes greats like Gale Sayers and John Riggins.

In his third season with Kansas, Williams will probably split some time with sophomore running back Velton Gardner, but Williams will get the majority of touches, especially if Kansas can’t find a competent quarterback.
