Kansas football has its new strength and conditioning coach in Ben Iannacchione. Here’s everything you need to know about Iannacchione, including his resume and more.

Kansas football announced the hiring of Ben Iannacchione (on-uh-KEY-own-E) earlier this morning. Iannacchione will take over for the Jayhawks’ previous strength coach Zac Woodfin, who left the Jayhawks for Missouri last week.

When you look at Iannacchione’s history, it’s not very surprising he ended up with Les Miles’ Kansas football. Iannacchione has deep ties to LSU during Miles’ tenure there. Here’s his full football resume:

  • Intern – LSU (2011-2012)
  • Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach – LSU (2012-2015)
  • Head Strength and Conditioning Coach – Youngstown State (2015-2016)
  • Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach – LSU (2016-2018)
  • Head Strength and Conditioning Coach – Wyoming (2018-2020)
  • Head Strength and Conditioning Coach – Kansas (2020-Present)

During his time with LSU, Iannacchione also served as a strength and conditioning coach for other sports like swimming & diving, soccer, and volleyball.

Iannacchione attended college at Boise State where he played offensive line. The Broncos had immense success during Iannacchione’s time there, highlighted by a Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma in 2007.

Iannacchione graduated from Boise State in 2008 with a degree in communications before earning his master’s certification in sports counseling in 2010 and master’s degree in kinesiology in 2012.

So far, Iannacchione has had success everywhere that he’s been a strength coach. During his time with the Tigers, Iannacchione helped Miles’ squad reach a national title game, as well as win multiple bowl games.

The history between Miles and Iannacchione played a significant role in Iannacchione’s decision.

"“I am blessed to have the opportunity to come to a school like Kansas and work with Coach Miles again. It is truly an honor to be a member of his staff. I am excited to get to Lawrence and get to work.” – Ben Iannacchione"
