Kansas football: Top five wins of the decade for the Jayhawks
3. Kansas football @ Boston College, 2019
The most recent game on this list, the Kansas game against Boston College was an incredible victory for the Jayhawks.
After losing the week before to Coastal Carolina, Kansas football fans’ confidence in the team was at an all-time low. If Kansas couldn’t score more than seven points on a team from the Sun Belt Conference, this was looked like it might be a really tough season in Les Miles’ first year.
The next week was going to be tough though, as the Jayhawks had to hit the road to take on Boston College as a twenty point underdog.
Things didn’t go great from the start, as the Eagles jumped out to an early 17-7 lead over Kansas. The Jayhawks came storming back though, as they took a 28-24 lead into halftime with all the momentum.
Kansas didn’t look back in the second half, scoring 20 unanswered points to get the road win 48-24 as a twenty point underdog. It was a massive victory over the Eagles, and it restored the faith Kansas fans had in the program.
It was Kansas’ first win over a power-five conference school in over a decade.
Kansas quarterback Carter Stanley looked great, throwing for 287 yards and three touchdowns, while Pooka Williams and Khalil Herbert combined for 308 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the night.
The defense also played incredibly well, shutting out Boston College in the second half.
