As evidenced by these Kansas basketball highlights, the Jayhawks didn’t mess around last night when they took on #20 Colorado.

Since Kansas basketball played and beat Dayton to win the Maui Invitational back on November 27, it felt like forever until the Jayhawks played again. That long gap made me and many other fans wonder just how good Kansas would look after such a long break.

The answer? Not great, but that’s okay.

While they won by 14 points and controlled the game from the start, Kansas didn’t play excellent. They had 21 turnovers and took an entire half to get going from behind the three-point line. As a matter of fact, every starter for Kansas had a minimum of three turnovers.

Still, the Jayhawks got the win, which is a good sign. If this team can turn the ball over that often and still be effective, then it’s scary to think what will happen when the Jayhawks start firing on all cylinders.

Here are the Kansas basketball highlights from last night’s 72-58 victory over Colorado (the video starts blurry, but improves when the highlights start):

Probably one of the biggest positives from the game was Ochai Agbaji‘s stellar shooting. The sophomore scored 20 points and was 4-of-6 from behind the three-point line. Agbaji’s shooting could be the key to this team’s success in March, plus his ticket to a first-round selection in the 2020 NBA Draft if he decides to go that route.

Of course, Udoka Azubuike and Devon Dotson contributed their usual workloads, dropping in a combined 30 points.

It was also nice to see Isaiah Moss get going too after the Dayton game where he didn’t score any points and only had one field goal attempt the entire game. Moss’ value as a guy that can knock down shots cannot be overstated, as his presence on the floor opens up opportunities for guys like Azubuike and Dotson.

ku football. A stadium renovation is on the horizon for the Jayhawks. light

Even though they weren’t perfect, this Kansas basketball team is dangerous. This mindset this season has to be national championship or bust, and this squad has the potential to bring home championship number six.
