Kansas football: Could Feleipe Franks be joining the Jayhawks?
Former Florida Gators quarterback Feleipe Franks announced he’d be transferring a few days ago. Could he wind up with Kansas football?
Kansas football desperately needs a competent quarterback next season to replace Carter Stanley, could former Florida Gator Feleipe Franks be the answer for the Jayhawks? Rumors have been circulating that Franks could wind up with Kansas after he followed head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Brent Dearmon on his Twitter account. Franks only follows about 100 other people, so it doesn’t seem like just a coincidence.

Franks does have another tie to Kansas football though, and this one’s a little bit more compelling.
Back when Les Miles was at LSU, Franks actually committed to Miles and LSU, before deciding to ultimately attend Florida. That past history with Miles could certainly be coming into play now that Franks is looking for somewhere to finish his final year of college football.
Franks was injured four games into the season this year, but his 2018 campaign was solid. As just a sophomore, Franks started all thirteen games and threw for 2,457 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions en route to a blowout win in the Peach Bowl against Michigan. The Gators finished with a 10-3 record.
If there’s one position that Kansas football has struggled to excel at over the past decade, it’s the quarterback. While Carter Stanley had a relatively good season, he won’t be back next year, and now it’s time to find someone new that can lead the team.
Even though some may not think Franks would even consider Kansas football an option, remember that this isn’t the Kansas football of old. With Brent Dearmon as the quarterback coach and offensive coordinator, Kansas may be an ideal place for Franks.
It wouldn’t be the end of the world if Kansas lost out on Franks, he could certainly help this team, and the Jayhawks need all the help they can get to avoid another three-win season.
