Low: Kansas football vs. Coastal Carolina

After the Jayhawks got the first win of the Les Miles era the week before against Indiana State, it looked like Kansas football may start the season 2-0. All they had to do, was beat the Sunbelt Conference Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, and they’d be a third of the way to a bowl game.

It wasn’t meant to be though.

After coming out on the opening drive and scoring a touchdown, the Jayhawk offense came to an absolute halt. Kansas didn’t score a single point the rest of the game in an ugly 12-7 home loss.

It was one of the most deflating games of the season, and Coastal Carolina rubbed salt in the wound when they beat up a Jayhawk piñata in the locker room after the game:

Losing to a Sunbelt Conference team is simply unacceptable, and not only that but only being able to score seven points was absolutely horrendous. It was possibly one of the lowest points of the season, but the next week would make the Jayhawks feel quite a bit better about the future.
