The Kansas Jayhawks took care of business last Tuesday night against East Tennessee State (ETSU). Udoka Azubuike led the way for the Jayhawks, and he added a few of his signature dunks to his highlight reel.

The Kansas Jayhawks got a good win over a good team the other night. ETSU was picked to win their conference this season, so they very well could end up in the NCAA tournament. It’s a game that will more than likely benefit Kansas’ resume down the road.

The Buccaneers couldn’t find an answer for seven-foot senior Udoka Azubuike, who finished with 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Doke had some monster dunks, and the ETSU defenders looked totally helpless whenever he touched the ball.

Sophomore point guard Devon Dotson also had a good game as usual. He contributed 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Dotson also finished with six assists and was perfect from the free throw line where he scored six of his points.

Here are the Kansas basketball highlights from the Jayhawks 75-63 win over ETSU:

You may have noticed something missing from the highlight video: three-pointers. The Kansas Jayhawks were a putrid 1-of-14 from behind the three-point line, as Devon Dotson hit the lone three for Kansas in the first five minutes of the game.

While the scary 7.1% is alarming, it really shouldn’t be.

There are going to be nights that the shots just aren’t falling, this was one of those nights. Plus, 14 three-point attempts is a good number in terms of volume, and it may even be a little bit low. For example, Isaiah Moss only shot two three-pointers the whole game, and he’s a guy that should be taking a minimum of four per game.

The Kansas Jayhawks got a good win over ETSU, and now it’s off to Maui. The Jayhawks will take on Chaminade at 8:00 PM next Monday with the game being broadcast on ESPNU.
