The Jayhawks won their first game of the season last night against a tough UNC Greensboro team. The Kansas basketball highlights against the Spartans are explosive and fun to watch.

The Jayhawks got their first win of the season 74-62 over a stingy UNC Greensboro. The Spartans did a pretty good job of containing Kansas basketball initially, but eventually, the Jayhawks’ superior talent prevailed.

Devon Dotson led the way for Kansas with 22 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Senior Udoka Azubuike also dominated, totaling 10 rebounds and 10 points on the night for what will hopefully be the first of many double-doubles.

Azubuike also had a terrorizing dunk over a UNC Greensboro player that should more than likely make the next pregame highlight reel. Ochai Agbaji also chipped in on the highlight reel with a spectacular finish on a lob.

The biggest part of this game for Kansas basketball was the improvement in taking care of the basketball. The Jayhawks only turned the ball over 10 times against UNC Greensboro, unlike Duke where Kansas turned the ball over 28 times.

Here are the Kansas basketball highlights from the Jayhawks’ 74-62 win over UNC Greensboro in Allen Fieldhouse:

It was a nice win and a good way to come back after the tough loss to the Blue Devils, but the Jayhawks still have a long way to go.

There are still some questions that need to be answered, namely, what kind of style will Kansas primarily utilize?

The four around one system seemed to benefit Udoka Azubuike quite a bit, but playing two big would allow Kansas to dominate the glass and take advantage of the talented frontcourt.

Ultimately, it’s a head coaching decision that Bill Self has to make. Right now, it seems like he may be leaning toward a primarily four-guard system, but don’t expect the two big look to totally disappear.

Playing both styles at the right time could catapult Kansas basketball to another Big 12 title and maybe even a national title, but there’s a lot of basketball to be played between now and then. Right now, it’s all about finding out what works.
