Kansas basketball closed out its two exhibition games with a dominant 102-42 win over Pittsburg State. The Jayhawks will take on Duke in less than a week in Madison Square Garden.

Kansas basketball dominated the Pittsburg Gorillas from the opening tip, and it was fun to watch; especially after getting off to such a slow start against Fort Hays State the week before. A lot of issues were solved in the game, and the Jayhawks proved that they can shoot the ball too.

Ochai Agbaji looked phenomenal throughout the game, leading all scorers with 19 points on seven of eight shooting. Agbaji looked especially deadly from three, going five of six on the night from behind the arc. If he can continue to prove that he has a reliable jumper, Agbaji’s draft stock is going to soar.

Freshman Tristan Enaruna led the Kansas basketball freshmen with nine points, five assists, and eight rebounds. Enaruna was a four-star recruit that looks like a promising piece of the Jayhawks.

When it comes to the bigs, all three dominated, which is a good sign. Finding a way to maximize the output of the frontcourt is going to be a challenge, but it looks like head coach Bill Self may have found a solution.

After missing last week’s exhibition against the Tigers, Devon Dotson made his season debut against Pitt. State. He finished with 12 points on only four of thirteen shooting, but this was Dotson’s first live-action game of the season. Dotson also finished with seven assists, two steals, and no turnovers.

The most eye-opening statistic for Kansas basketball was the Jayhawks’ three-point shooting percentage. Kansas basketball shot 45% from behind the three-point, which is certainly a good sign considering the limited role of sharpshooter Isaiah Moss who only played five minutes. Moss has been dealing with a hamstring injury but got a little bit of time tonight.

A 60 point win to cap off exhibition games is a perfect way to roll into the regular season. The Jayhawks have all the talent in the world, and it’ll be exciting to see how the team grows and develops throughout the season. Kansas basketball has a legit chance to win it all this year, and it’s time to prove it against Duke.
