This morning, five-star power forward Isaiah Todd has narrowed his list down to Michigan and Kansas. After all the negative publicity, this would be a huge get for Kansas basketball.

Isaiah Todd is currently ranked as the number 12 overall recruit in the 2020 class by 247 Sports. After having interest from North Carolina, NC State, Kentucky, and others, Todd has cut his list to two schools: Michigan and Kansas basketball.

Todd was recently in Lawrence for Late Night in the Phog. His decision date is set for his birthday, October 17.

Kansas basketball and  Michigan were both big surprises and not predicted to make the final list. As a matter of fact, Kentucky was believed to be the frontrunner to land the five-star recruit; however, it seems like no one knows which way Todd is going to go after today.

Todd has an impressive highlight reel. The six-foot-ten-inch power forward has an incredibly high ceiling and has the potential to be a future NBA lottery pick. He has the ability to finish at the rim and also has a good looking jump shot. His mid-range game is especially strong.

Here’s the post that Todd made on Twitter to announce his final two:

Hopefully, Thanos will choose the Reality Stone.

If Kansas basketball can find a way to land Todd, it would be a huge statement to future recruits, fans, and others that pay attention to college basketball. It would show that despite the NCAA allegations, Kansas basketball is far from done and that recruits will still sign with the Jayhawks.

Kansas also really needs to start building its 2020 recruiting class, which currently has zero commits. While Bill Self has shown time and time again that he shouldn’t be doubted in recruiting, the lack of players is a little concerning as a fan.

Isaiah Todd could easily fix that though. If the five-star prospect chooses Kansas basketball over Kentucky, North Carolina, and Michigan, that would certainly put Jayhawk fans at ease.
