Kansas football heads on the road tomorrow to face TCU in Fort Worth with the goal if getting their first Big 12 win of the season after a close loss to West Virginia last week.

It’s a new week for Kansas football, and that should be the team’s mindset as they go on their first conference road game of the season.

The Jayhawks have a decent shot on the road this week against the Horned Frogs. For one, TCU got beat last weak at home by SMU 41-38. Also, TCU may be the least stable team in the Big 12 at the quarterback position.

Last week, Max Duggan took the snaps and finished 16/36 with 188 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. While that’s not a bad stat line, Duggan is last in the Big 12 for passing yards per game, completion percentage, and passing efficiency.

Running back Darius Anderson has been the real workhorse for TCU this season. He racked up 161 yards on the ground last week in addition to two touchdowns. Stopping the Anderson will be the Jayhawks defense’s top priority this week.

On the offensive side of the ball, Kansas will have to look out for linebacker Garret Wallow, who had a monster 19 tackles last week. Wallow currently leads the Big 12 in total tackles, and it’ll be imperative for the Kansas offense to get him blocked.

  • This is a winnable game for the Jayhawks if they can find a way to stop Darius Anderson. The Jayhawks defense has played well this season, but I don’t think they’ll find a way to totally stop Anderson. I also think Carter Stanley is going to have a big week as well, but overall the Jayhawks are going to have a tough time on the road. 28-17 TCU.

  • This one is pretty simple: Kansas is a run-first team, TCU is no. 15 in the country in total run defense. Kansas is awful against the run, TCU is no. 15 in the country in rushing yards per game. Kansas will need a borderline perfect performance through the air from Carter Stanley if they expect to win this one. I don’t see that happening. 34-14 TCU.

Average Score: 31-16 TCU.
