Keith Langford had tremendous success during his four years with Kansas basketball, then parlayed his college career into a successful professional career overseas.

If one word had to be used to describe Keith Langford it would probably be “explosive.” His high-flying dunks and clutch performances earned him a spot as many fans’ favorite Jayhawk.

Langford played four seasons with the Jayhawks between 2001 and 2005. This gave him the unique perspective of playing for both Roy Williams and Bill Self. While he was at Kansas, Langford enjoyed immense success.

He primarily came off the bench in his freshman year and helped propel the Jayhawks to a Final Four appearance. Langford then proceeded to start for his next three years at Kansas, as well as help lead Kansas to the 2003 national title game against Syracuse.

2003 was also Langford’s best season statistically, averaging a healthy 15.9 points per game. Langford’s biggest contributions though came in the form of rim-rattling dunks and the spark that they provided for the team. His ability to leap out of the gym helped drive Kansas basketball to a win on more than one occasion.

After finishing up his senior year in 2005, Langford went undrafted and ended up playing for the Forth Worth Flyers of the NBA Development League. From 2006 through 2008, Langford bounced around between Europe, NBA and D-League rosters. After 2008, he strictly played overseas, appearing on a number of teams.

Since 2009, Langford has carved out a successful career overseas; winning many different awards and accolades such as all-star appearances, scoring titles, and even hall of fame inductions. In 2015, Langford represented the United States in the Pan American Games held in Toronto and walked away with a bronze medal.

Langford is still an active pro today and helped Panathinaikos win the Greek Cup title last season. He begins the 2019-2020 season with a new team: AEK Athens in Greece. This will be season number 15 in Langford’s long and prosperous professional career.
