Kansas Heads-Up

Despite his struggles last week against Coastal Carolina, Carter Stanley will remain the Jayhawks’ starting quarterback heading into week three. The whole Kansas offense will revolve on Stanley’s ability to throw the football and his offensive line’s ability to protect him.

If Kansas can prove they have the means to put the football in the air, it will open up the Jayhawks’ deadly running back duo of Pooka Williams and Khalil Herbert. Stanley doesn’t have to be perfect, just good enough to make the defense respect him.

Boston College Heads-Up

Last week, Boston College destroyed the Richmond Spiders by a score of 45-13. Eagles quarterback Anthony Brown was 8/14 for 163 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Boston College did most of their damage on the ground, racking up a total of 346 rushing yards. Eight different players were credited with a rush; however, Pat Garwo III and David Bailey had the most rushes on the team with 17 and 13 respectively.

How Kansas can win

Kansas is going to have to try and keep the Boston College ground game in check. Last week, the Jayhawks defense got ran all over by Coastal Carolina, so they’re going to have to step up this week.

On the offensive side of the ball, it’s crucial that Kansas limits unforced errors. This team isn’t good enough to make stupid mistakes, and they’ll have to be sharper than the previous two weeks if they hope to have a shot at a win on the road. Week three will be a defining and tone-setting game for Kansas football. Hopefully, the Jayhawks can get it done.
