Do the Kansas Jayhawks still have a path to six wins and a bowl game?

Kansas State at home

The Sunflower Showdown. A tradition unlike any other. The Jayhawks will host the Wildcats this year after losing on the road last season by a score of 17-21. The game was close all the way through, and one the Jayhawks could have won. That was last season though.

This year, Kansas will have a legit chance to pick up a win at home vs. their biggest in-state rival. David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, or The Booth, should be relatively full for this one. If Kansas is realistic about getting to a bowl game, they’re going to have to pick up a win against their neighbor. Even with a big crowd behind them, how likely is it that Kansas beats Kansas State?

The Wildcats are off to an impressive 2-0 start under new head coach Chris Klieman. So far, Kansas State has blown out both Nicholls State and Bowling Green; however, the Wildcats will face their first test of the season next Saturday on the road against Mississippi State. It’s still too early to tell if Kansas State is for real or not, but time will tell just how good this team really is.

Regardless of how good Kansas State is, the Jayhawks should be ready to play. After all, the game last year came down to the wire, and there’s the whole rivalry aspect as well.
