Kansas Heads-Up
Kansas will be without their star sophomore running back Pooka Williams who will be serving a one-game suspension this week. While not having Pooka certainly hurts, Kansas does boast a solid running back rotation. Look for senior Khalil Herbert and junior Dom Wiliams to split time at the running back position in the absence of Pooka Williams.
The big unknown for the Jayhawks today is the quarterback position. Kansas and Les Miles have opted to make it a game-time decision, or at least not make the identity of the QB known until then. Right now, the two front runners are senior Carter Stanley and juco transfer Thomas Macvittie. It’s very possible that both quarterbacks play today, given the appearance that there isn’t much gap between the two.
Indiana State Heads-Up
Ryan Boyle, the redshirt senior quarterback for the Sycamores was the MVC Newcomer of the Year last season. Boyle began his collegiate career at Iowa but transferred to Indiana State in 2018. He also earned all MVC 2nd team honors. The dual-threat QB sliced and diced defenses last season with both his arm and legs scoring six touchdowns on the ground and 12 through the air last season. A big part of the game will be whether or not Kansas can contain or possibly even shut down Boyle.
Be sure to get out to #TheBooth today to help kick off the Les Miles era of Kansas football! Rock Chalk.
