The 2017 vote count is in and Kansas Jayhawk fans rank No. 129 in the Fandom 250. The Jayhawks take a big jump over the 2016 poll.

In the world of college athletics, Kansas Jayhawks fans are among the most informed, intelligent and committed to their teams. National media frequently features passionate Jayhawks fans. That same passion is reflected in the 2017 Fandom rankings released by FanSided this week.

Kansas Jayhawk fans should be especially proud this year. Kansas fans made a dramatic move up in rank. In 2016, the voting left the Jayhawks at No.160 and No. 12 among college sports fans. The move up 31 places in the ranking this year is impressive.

It shows a lot about the dedication of Kansas Jayhawk fans in the competition that includes other colleges, other sports, entertainment entities and more. Kansas remained at No. 12 among other college sports fans for 2017. Only two other Big 12 teams cracked the top 20 in the college division this year.

The long history and tradition of Kansas basketball plays a huge part in generating the passion and love shown by Jayhawk fans. In addition, Self’s team winning 13 straight conference championships says it all. If Kansas can win on the football field next season, the Jayhawks will continue to move up in the Fandom 250.
