Kansas football preview: How watch or listen to Baylor game

The Kansas football team is in search of their first Big 12 conference win of the season. Here are details on the battle with Baylor and where to tune in.

David Beaty and Kansas football team need to make the most of Saturday’s game against a winless Baylor team. A win will help define the difficult 2017 season.  A loss will leave a huge black mark on this third season of the Beaty era. Considering the rest of the schedule, the Jayhawks need to earn a victory now.

I expect a big game on Saturday from Jayhawk defensive Dorance Armstrong. Kansas defensive coordinator Clint Bowen must have his guys attack Baylor’s sophomore quarterback Zach Smith. The Bears have a weak offensive line which should provide an opportunity for Armstrong and Daniel Wise to have big games.  As a matter of fact, Wise had 2.5 sacks against the ‘Cats. Armstrong was hampered by an injury. However, he showed his amazing speed and strength by racing downfield to force a fumble before getting hurt.

According to Beaty on Tuesday

"Dorance will be available. He looks like he’s going to be fine."

One of the biggest issues facing Beaty going into this contest is the play of the Jayhawk special teams. Liam Jones needs a touchback on every kickoff. Punter Cole Moos must kick away from trouble. The Bears are not averaging a lot of return yardage but Moos must give his team some help. The Jayhawks can’t afford to give up a special teams touchdown again this week.

Next: Quarterback Carter Stanley can beat Baylor

This is a huge game for both teams. Carter Stanley showed his ability to extend plays last week. With a healthy front line, Dough Meacham’s Air Raid offense should put up a lot of points Saturday. I expect the Jayhawks to score early and show fans they want this win more than the Bears.
