The Kansas basketball team’s annual Bill Self boot camp is underway. Strength trainer Andrea Huddy is also building them up for the season.

Bill Self and Kansas Basketball have a fabulous weapon in strength trainer Andrea Hudy. She is the best in the business. I wonder how many college basketball fans know the name of their team’s strength and condition coach? Kansas Basketball fans know Andrea Hudy.

As a matter of fact, she works far beyond the Jayhawk basketball team.  She runs the entire Anderson Sports and Conditioning Complex for all sports on campus. With Late Night in the Phog set for later this month and the tip off of the basketball season, she is extra busy.

Her use of social media is very entertaining. On the other hand, Jayhawk opponents might learn some of her secrets of success. The exercises she has some Jayhawk players perform look overwhelming. She knows what she is doing and the athletes all benefit from her expertise.

It’s been fun to watch Kansas basketball players physically transformed after a few months following her workouts. She probably should receive more attention for the amazing things she does for the Jayhawks.

Since her arrival in Lawrence in 2004 she immediately made an impact on the basketball team. Her peers continue to recognize her for outstanding performance. She earned the National Strength and Condition Association Coach of the Year award four years ago. This summer the Association gave her the Impact Award
