Former Kansas Basketball star Kelly Oubre, Jr. is passionate about basketball. He is now making NBA headlines and talking Big-12 basketball.

Many fans were disappointed when Oubre left after one season playing for Bill Self and Kansas Basketball. I never think most underclassmen are ready for the big stage.

Oubre is no Andrew Wiggins or Josh Jackson. He is playing on just the right team with the right coach.

He is playing twice as many minutes per game this season along with getting some big-time playoff experience.

Oubre exploded in game three of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals against Boston last week.

Overreaction or not, the refs charged him with a flagrant 2 foul for charging and knocking over Kelly Olynyk.

Then they sent Oubre to an early shower. Later, the league suspended him for Sunday’s game.

The Celtics held the former Kansas basketball star to 13 points in 20 minutes of game five. Oubre also grabbed 3 rebounds while listening to the loud fans in Boston boo him- among other things.

The Washington Post reported that Oubre did not care about what the crowd would do. He’d played before rowdy crowds in college.

Oubre never played in the amazing rivalry between Kansas and Missouri.

He did have a trip to Bramlage Coliseum that prompted a comparison to fans at TD Garden in Boston.

"“I went to Kansas University so I’m pretty much used to all the booing and all the crazy stuff that fans could say. I’m used to it,”"

It was nice to see him reminisce about his one season playing for the Jayhawks. The game in Manhattan was not pleasant for Kansas fans. Oubre scored 14 points in a 7-point loss.
